About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Wilderness Coast Public Libraries is to enhance the lives of the citizens of Franklin, Jefferson, and Wakulla Counties by providing access to information and materials to meet the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of those citizens through shared technology and resources.

Historical Information

The Wilderness Coast Public Libraries cooperative was established on September 30, 1995. It was established by an interlocal agreement between the Franklin, Jefferson, and Wakulla Counties. Wilderness Coast Public Libraries operates under the Uniform Special District Accountability Act, Chapter 189, Florida Statutes.

Service Area

Wilderness Coast Public Libraries provides shared library services throughout the 3-­County area of Franklin, Jefferson, and Wakulla Counties. Our member libraries include Franklin County Public Library, Wakulla County Public Library, and Jefferson County Public Library.

 Services Provided

The services Wilderness Coast Public Libraries provides to our member libraries include shared access to Mango: a language learning program, the Chilton Automotive catalog, and all of the programs and platforms that are necessary for our member libraries to run smoothly, including Koha: the integrated library system, delivery services for all interlibrary loans, and much more.
